  2008 Designer's Classic Sale Results  
     

An overflow crowd of 300 from Australia, Costa Rica, Brazil, Panama, Nicaragua, Canada, Mississippi, Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Oklahoma,  Georgia, Tennessee, Kansas, Missouri, Virginia and Texas gathered at BHR for the activities and events associated with the 14th Annual Designer’s Classic on Saturday, May 17, 2008.

The FSFF kicked off the activities with a breakfast, attended by 50 Fullblood enthusiasts.  The Bull-A-Rama drew a lot of attention with Ron Starr of Kansas winning 1st place and $1,750, Jeanne Scorse of Steaks Alive in Missouri, placed 2nd receiving $1,500.  A tie for 3rd between Greg Starr of Four Starr Simmentals and William Tyler of Bright Star Fleckvieh, was decided by a drawing with Greg Starr placing 3rd and receiving $1,000.  William Tyler placed 4th, and John Scorse of Steaks Alive and Steve Jensen of Jensen Simmentals tied for 5th & 6th. 

Tom Baker of Woonallee Simmentals of Furner, Australia began his presentation at 11:30 AM regarding Simmentals in Australia and at Woonallee Simmentals.  Tom went in-depth about his breeding program and how his Simmental cattle drove their commercial herd of 2,500 head to be one of the best known commercial herds in all of Australia topping all weaner sales at weaning time.
  
The sale was started by thanking the Guest Consignors and a welcome by Fred and Les.

Active bidding created one of the best Simmental Sales ever held at BHR and cattle and genetics went to Canada, Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Mexico, Alabama, Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Mississippi, Ohio, Tennessee, with a host of new buyers from Texas.  Louis Hubnik of Hubnik Farms did purchase two head even though he was attending a function for his grandson, marking his 14th consecutive year to purchase at BHR.

Susi Cow Family International Acclaim


Agro Zurita's Simmental Sale, held on Saturday, September 15, 2007, in Brazil, grossed $4,000,000 on 37 lots for an unbelievable average of $108,108 U.S. per lot.

A crowd of 1,500 plus filled the sales arena at Santa Cruz Farms, the new location for Agro Zurita's farm in Araras, Brazil.

Congratulation to Fabio, Pinheiro and the entire Agro Zurta Staff.

2007 Designer's Classic Sale Results


Pleasant weather with green grass set the scene for the 13th Annual BHR’s Designer’s Classic. A great crowd of enthusiastic breeders from Brazil, Canada, Mexico and Panama, along with breeders from Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, Missouri, Colorado, Michigan, Iowa, Tennessee and Illinois, participated in the First Annual Bull-A-Rama, along with the Designer’s Classic.

Dr. Lorna Pelton placed the Bull-A-Rama classes and then discussed Herd Bull Selection on Saturday, May 19, 2007. Megan Neeley of Frankston, Texas, turned in a perfect score and received a $1,750 gift certificate to use during the sale. Larry Throgmorton of T5 Livestock Co., submitted an entry with a combined score of 94, good enough for second place and received a $1,500 gift certificate. An online participant, Dennis Anderson of Suchas, Georgia placed third with a score of 92, receiving a gift certificate of $500 towards the purchase of BHR genetics.

Carlos Ramirez and Darcy Smith of Ganadera CRF in Panama purchased ½ interest in BHR Dustin for $15,000. 

Pinheiro Machado, representing Agro Zurita of Brazil, purchased the two high selling flushes for $8,000 per flush and Dr. Mikell & Mary Cheek Davis of Little Creek Farms in Starkville, Mississippi, purchased the third high selling Flush for $5,200.

The high selling Open Female, a Doorn daughter out of BHR Texas Rose, was purchased by Jean Pierre LeBlanc of Ranch LeBlanc in Montreal, Canada for $9,200.

The second high selling Open Female, Lot 10A, an Orange River daughter out of BHR Lady Jaguar, owned by BHR, Snell Simmentals and Foster Mills Simmental, was purchased by Agro Zurita of Brazil for $5,700.

Third high selling Open Female, Lot 18, a Doorn daughter out of BHR L098E, was purchased by Flying F Ranch of Godley, Texas for $4,000.

High selling Bred Female, Lot 11, a Doorn daughter out of BHR Shanata, a Kykso Hano-AI-AI Sissa daughter, was purchased by Agro Zurita for $9,100.

Second high selling Bred Heifer, Lot 9, was purchased by Jean Pierre LeBlanc of Ranch LeBlanc in Montreal, Canada. This BHR Three Sixes daughter out of a Zulu daughter by BHR Mackeda, a Doorn daughter, sold for $6,600.

Sterling Shaw from Cabri, Saskatchewan, Canada, purchased the third high selling Bred Female, Lot 21, for $6,000. BHR Top Class is a Doorn daughter out of a Primal x AI-AI Rina Daughter.

High selling Pair was Lot 12 & 12A, a Doorn daughter consigned by Agro Zurita, purchased by Indian Creek Cattle Co., Greg & Paige Kemp of Huntsville, Alabama for $4,700.

High selling Simbrah was a bred heifer, Lot 31, that was purchased by Hernando Guerra of Garza Garcia, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. Lot 32, an open Simbrah Female, was the second high selling Simbrah lot purchased by La Muneca Cattle Co., Carlos Guerra of Linn, Texas, for $2,250.

High selling Semen lot was consigned by Woonallee Simmental of Australia. Thirty units of Woonallee Hadau for the U.S. and 30 units for Canada, averaged $125 per straw, purchased by Greg Kemp of Indian Creek Cattle Co., Huntsville, Alabama and Fabian Lopez of Lufkin, Texas.

Semen consigned by Four Starr Simmentals of Olathe, Kansas sold for $100 per straw to Dr. Bill Moore of Moore Farms in Alabama and Buzzard Hollow Ranch.

Murle & Jane Ann Blasingame of Granbury, Texas were the volume buyers of Sim- Angus Bred & Open Females, which averaged $1,430 and $1,075 respectively.

BHR 2006 Designer’s Classic Sale Report

The 12th Annual BHR’s Designer’s Classic was a great success, attended by visitors and buyers from Canada, Brazil, Nicaragua, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, Florida, Iowa, Oklahoma, Connecticut, Oregon, Colorado, Kansas, Virginia, Tennessee, Georgia, Missouri, Michigan and Texas, along with those that viewed and participated in the sale through Live Auctions.TV.

Ninety-two Fleckvieh Fullblood, Purebred Simmental and SimAngus lots grossed $445,590.

The 44 Fleckvieh Fullblood lots grossed $366,700 to average $8,334.  The two Purebred Simmental lots grossed $4,800 to average $2,400.  The three Simbrah lots grossed $7,200 to average $2,400 and the 42 SimAngus lots grossed $65,450 to average $1,558.33.

High Selling Flush – BFS Hacks Fraulein R458C, a clone to the immortal Hacks Fraulein, sold for      $15, 500 to David and Mary Ann Padot of Fanning Springs, Florida.

Second High Selling Flush – BHR Lady Skye SA P276E, South African Fleckvieh, sold to Woonalee Simmentas, Tom & Lizzy Baker of Australia for $12,000.

Third High Selling Flush – BHR Lady Pretoria G043E, South African Fleckvieh, sold to Agro Zurita of Brazil, represented by Pinheiro Machado, for $11,000.
